So much to update about! Rainbow in Wyoming, new computer, lover, living space! Here we go. Yeah, so I got a new computer in a good way, and I love it. I got the new Macbook Pro 2.6 Ghz with multi-touch (gestures) and a speedier hard drive, and suped up video card. WHOO HOOO! back in business. I re-started my mac business, Mac Daddy Computer Consulting! and made a new business card. Hope you like...

I love having fun with Macs. I guess thats the theme of the new card. Its been fun. Life is right? Lets keep it thattaway.

Rainbow.... Wow it was a great one this year. It all started out a little rough, when we all got pulled over and harassed heavy by the Forest Circus (Forest Service) Law Enforcement Officers (L.E.O.s). It was almost dawn and we had been driving all night. We were stopped for not having a license plate light, sniffed down by the dogs, searched, and charged with having marijuana. We all had medical marijuana scripts and feel as though we were searched illegally. Anyway, I was also incarcerated (arrested and jailed) for a warrant stemming for a ticket I received at the U.P. of Michigan gathering for (participating in an illegal gathering on public land. Which is ridiculous when you look at the 1st amendment of the Bill of Rights.

First Amendment – Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

I was taken into custody driven 2-3 hours and booked into the Rock Springs Correctional Facility. I was put in the holding cell, a 10ft x 4ft cinderblock room with a metal toilet and concrete bed. Now thats comfort! I requested some blankets and promptly went to sleep. I hadn’t slept in way too long.

A few hours later I was awoken by one of the intake officers, and told to sign a paper saying my charges had been dropped. Hooray! I promptly caught a ride into town only to realize the jail had not returned my ID with the rest of my property. I found another quick ride towards the jail and made friends with the driver. He said he doesn’t really pick up hitch-hikers and had pulled over before he even had a chance to think about it. MANIFEST! So he offered a ride back to Rainbow, and we got my ID and headed out. I saw family on the road and managed to call them and get a ride with them, and let the nice fellow in Rock Springs get back home. What an ordeal for a bull-shit charge anyway.

Rainbow was really incredible (check out the Slideshow) other than that, and it was for me maybe a blessing to get locked up at first, because it made the rest of the gathering so special. I was so thankful to be out on the land, living tribal, on the beautiful land we call America, which I love so much. Turtle Island perhaps. And relating that to the jail experience, It was so incredibly easy to see the dark in the system, and the light in the land and those who live with it, or desire to, and work towards that goal. But the system doesnt want it that way, and thats why they crack down on Rainbow so hard. Free thinking and sustainability are major threats to power and profit.

Also later in the gathering the police (L.E.O.s) came in to antagonize, and eventually brutally attacked a peaceful crowd. On July 3rd, during main food circle, L.E.Os opened fire, with pepper spray like powder rubber bullets, on a crowd of Rainbows at the Childrens area, Kiddie Village They did so without warning or clear explanation of what type of rounds were being fired, or any regard to the safety of the Children. Many individuals running away with their kids were shot with the chemical warfare devices. Also many Rainbows thought that live rounds were being fired, and people were being killed, creating a very dangerous psychological scenario. Scary! The police claim that the Rainbows were attacking them. Not So! It started when one older rainbow, apparently with a warrant, got up and ran away. Please Check it out on the web, and on youtube, And share it with your friends. Rainbow does not deserve torture from Federal officers. U.S. Out Of Rainbow!
Anywho.. Enough of all that.

I was delighted to spend the gathering with a wonderful lady, Amber, whom I met in San Francisco on the way back up here, shortly before Rainbow. I was headed north, home (Humboldt), from Lightning in a Bottle, and got delayed in San Francisco for a few days on business. I finally got all that done, and posted a ride to Arcata from the Bay area on Craigslist.org. I got a few flakes, and met a nice guy on the Haight who needed a ride, and this girl Amber. We dropped bro off in Santa Rosa and headed North to Dylan and Gina’s place outside of Willits. Amber and I snugged, and in the morning talked for hours and started the connection. Wow. Didnt know it was gonna be like that. So were still diggin each other a lot, and have a real deep connection. She knows how to have fun, and is a good communicator, 2 crucial elements for a girl of my fancy. Plus, we dont need each other. A HUGE plus. She is really talented, as a jewelry maker, and glass blower, and seems to be good at whatever she wants to do. I love it! Amber is from New York, a favorite spot of mine, and she’ll be going back there this weekend I think. Shes got some ends to wrap up there, and then plans to move out west to Nor-Cal, to live it up. Sounds like a good time and I hope to be present in that. We shall see, but it looks good. Great actually. Mwwa to you Amber. All Love.

Amongst other good news, after the last few weeks of living out of my car, I found a great living situation in Trinidad. No rent. Just care-taking. Im really close to Strawberry Rock and a short distance to the beach as well.
Super stoked!

So Thats about it. Oh yeah. Check out Lightning in a Bottle if you havent allready. One of the best festivals Ive ever been to in 11 Years of Festy hopping! And Im bummed I missed Shambhala Music Festival in BC this last week. I know its a great one too. Ill try harder next year. But I WILL be making it to Burning Man. Anyone Else? Give a holla!
My Laptop and manpurse got stolen a few weeks ago, and my G5 is still on the fritz.... Havent had alot of ‘puter action lately. Big hit for my team, thats for sure.

I have been having a little fun on the driving range. Been takin’ the clubs out for a spin once in a while and I do enjoy it. Its kinda more of a way to get myself not thinking about a bunch of stuff in my life that sucks right now.

On the homefront... Im moving out of my house because of circumstances beyond my control, have made the situation non financially viable. So Im moving into my car i guess and Im not sure what or where Ill be doing, whatever it is that I will be doing. Its a little freaky, and Im not sure what is next, but I guess Im just flowing with it.

I have been sharing my time with company and thats nice as well. Im not really sure what it will bring, and don’t care to think about it all that much.

I am praying for a lucrative opportunity in the near future, as I really could use one right now.

Blessings to all...
Namaste

So I finally got my Blog back! My PowerMac G5 has been on the fritz (still is), but it starts up perfectly like once every few weeks, and I can operate. After installing Leopard on my laptop, I lost alot of stuff, knowing it was safe on the G5. Well, lets say, Im finally getting the shit srtaight again. GIVE THANKS!

What a Party I went to on the 29th! best music since... i dont know Jerry died? Maybe not quite that long, but I can rarely recall letting the notes all in like that. the Bass fills my soul these dayz... So yeah, ZeroGround was the shit. Gitch Mob just killed it. I had never seen them all perform together and it was HOT! Not to mention Bassnectarn Tipper, BLVD, Z-Trip and Skream all on the scene as well. Supah Hot!

New Years was aright, but nothin could top that show. I knew it was gonna be like that, so I didnt get all excited for New Years Eve (thank god cuz it was like I said... aright). And the same can be said for this new year as well. Its aright, but nothing worth backflippin over. Everyone is out of town and its pretty boring. All the good places to eat are closed, and theesd not alot of music either. Hopefully soon it will all pick back up and i wont shrivel up and retire. Anywayz, all love to you all, especially you... you know who you are.... (I love that one!) Bless!

Tough times in the hood for L to the Pizzle., Ol’ boy Bega. Shucks, Im glad your not here seeing it and and watching me go down like a flaming zeppelin. Bills stacking up. Broken motor. getting the boot from my place on the 9th. At least I got to go to one of my favorite spots outside of Eugene, while I was there. Why was I in Eugene you ask? to pull a motor out of a Mercedesfor taking back to Willits to put in my car, after I get the engine out of that. Booyah. Mad work, Grease Ball. Its the way it is. Hope its going better for you all out there.... Blessings!

I have been Slacking on this blog thing. I feel like so much has happened since I posted last time. My G5 (computer) crashed about a month ago, so that has held me back a bit. But miraculously, I came back from a trip and it works again! Hooray!!!

So Yeah...I finally made it out to some festivals this year. Some close homies and I went down to the bay area to catch the Rock the Bells hip hop festival in San Francisco.
We saw Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Pharoahe Monche, Wu-Tang, EPMD, Public Enemy, Cypress Hill, Rage against the Machine, and little bit of a few other act. Was a blast. Jahsun and I found VIP tickets on Craigslist and got some free shit along the way. The VIP tix weren’t really worth it, but we got stylie laminates and felt like we were cool. Thats what matters right.... Hahahahaha.

So after that, we went thrift store shopping in Berkeley, found the kind threads, hit up the one of the Medical Marijuana clubs in Berkeley, bought my first legal weed, and then hit Cancun, My favorite burrito joint in Berkeley.

It was a great trip. We then headed back to Willits to work on the Dubmarine (Pranav’s art car skool bus). I spent the next 5 days fabricating a roof rack that i had started before Rock the Bells. . See...the idea is that we were building a art car for Burning Man...which i was not planning on attending. You know how plans get all mixed up though.

So we finished the rack, the veggie fuel system (SVO conversion) for the bus and cleaned the shop. At this point some angel said they would pay for my burning man ticket if I came, so I did. We mobbed in the bus and Annapurna’s Veggie Truck from Willits to the Burn in 2 days...kinda slow..as we had to dial in the systems (some of which never workd on the trip) we had just modified. I had to do an emergency lift pump repair job as we were spitting oil all over the road. Seems someone put the washers in between the pump and the motor, forcing a gap for the oil to spill. Bummer.

We finally made it to Burning Man. Ill try to explain it. Post modern art meets post apocalyptic psychedelic autonomous clusterfuck somewhere near Hell. The heat is insane. The dust storms are amazing. the art is incredible. The fire and mass burning of petrol and wood all over is STUPID! Over all I had a good time...very intense...not sure if I would want to return. Everyone should go at least once. I could say so much more...but its redundant. Just go. Check out some great images and videos of it here... VIDEOS PICS MORE PICS

So I am back in Arcata, working a bit. I got a car (1983 diesel Mercedes) and I love it. Registered and insured. I got a room at a friends house. I got my ID and drivers license. And I got my Medical Marijuana card. Hooray. Im Legitified.
Its been a tough choice and a long way, but Im glad I got shit together. Workin’ on the rest. Love to all. Thanks for reading this if you did... it seems important to me. Bless!

Technical difficulties prevented me from posting from my laptop, but I got that all fixed now. Im Back!

So... I went to Idaho...to go rafting with my father..and hang out with him a bit. I love my parents alot, so its important to chill with them when I can. Its not always easy, it seems. It cast money, and is stressful. Travel can be intense.

Anyway, the trip was great. I got to hang out with old friends and catch up on the times, super crucial. I did some single speed mountain biking with an old buddy Tom Hale from Surf’s Up in Pocatello. Great chillin’ with ya Tom.

Also I did some tree trimming, as I found a nice little arborist chainsaw in the pawn shop there...and found some work to help pay for the trip. Stoked to have another saw too.

Anyway I took some pics, here they are

In this part of my life it seems that sleep is low on the priority. Going and going all the time. Either working, or making music, or hangin’ with friends... Its a struggle to find time for hitting the sack. Eventually, it all catches up and i pass out hard for like 12+ hours and Im good to go. The studio has really been occupying alot of time. Im trying to get my camera back in action, and get some podcasts out there.

Summer is here i guess. I am trying to decide what Im gonna do this year. I really want to go to Rainbow. I hear its in Arkansas, and rumors point to the Buffalo River. Also my pops wants me to come and raft the river with him in early June. And Ma wants me to come out maybe in August. On the other hand I can stay here and work all summer , and make some lootcakes and move forward towards some goals I have. Tough choices. Any way. Well just have to see. By the way...Happy Mothers Day, Mom...If you read my blog. LOve YOu!

The kinetic Sculpture race is coming up.
Yesterday was a really hard one for me. Went rounds with government, seemingly endlessly, for what? Ive been trying hard to get this ID thing. The Cal. DMV said this...the S.S. says that. Reminds me of a Mos Def Lyric “Gotta Have ID to get ID, If I had ID I wouldnt Need ID” *!!SO REAL!!* I swear. You gotta have ID to get a SS card, gotta have a SS card to get an ID and gotta have a number of other things (that took me forever to round up, including medical records, which my hospital requires and ID to get!) to get either ID or SS card, without the other. WHat a disaster. So FInally, after all that, they said my medical records, Birth Cert., SS card w/ birth name (mom’s last) certified letter of birth, parents divorce papers (incl. my name change) was not kosher enough to get an ID. I felt like going postal. So I was like, F*#@ IT. Im going to the DMV again. They didn’t even ask for my SS card, just wrote it on the form. I lost the $20 I had for the ID,but luckily, a friend (BIG UPS!) came and loaned me the loot. There I was. Upset so much, but then It all worked out. Its in the Mail! I had all I needed the whole time. Jacked around for so long. It just depends o who you get at the window I guess.

It was such a great time as we planted fruit trees with kids at several schools in Oakland, Fruitvale, And other Bay area cities. The teachers, faculty, and students were really excited to see what the crew could do. The kids’ eyes light up when the hippie-hop cypher train of Rainbow comes out. Epic. Connecting with the kids through the trees and the dirt, and the drums and music is so crucial. Planting seeds of change in the youth, sowing seeds of the future in the minds of the next generation, AMAZING! Please check out their site and donate or get involved if you can. Its so worth it! Blessings to the CV Crew. Had a blast hangin’ with Ya’ll!

Human and the Other Humans played in Blue Lake 2 nights ago. Was a great show, and was great to see Human. I gave him an appropriate amount of hecklin’ and he gave it right back. Standard Protocol amongst us Rainbow rebels.
I got 1/2 naked for the song, and was taunted to go further. I reserved the skivies since I was in Blue Lake. Who knows what kind of ordinances they have there. Plus we were like 1 block from the Logger Bar!

Makin’ Beats again. Using Apple’s Logic and Ableton Live.
Makin’ Progress. Taking Tutorials and such. Learnin’ tricks.
Enjoyin it 4 sure.

Ready to make some some movies. Camera gonna get fixed. Back in Business. Allspeciesmedia.org

I been Lisnin’ to a rapper called Main Flow alot. Was part of Cincinatti group MOOD, who is also really tight. Donte, from the same, is anotha goody to watch for.

Checkout the Firefox plugin “Stumble Upon” It’s Great.

Lovin You!

Big Ups To All!
LOVE and Mo’ LOVE!

Im headed outta here (Arcata) and goin south with the Dude to link up with family crew and amazing outreach group Common Vision in San Francisco. Common Vision is a dedicated youth outreach program (the best one yet) that travels from school to school, planting fruit trees with kids, on the school grounds for future generations, and teaching about african drumming and dancing and the connection between music and dance and everyday life in indigenous cultures. Permaculture is also a major focus. And all of this is brought to you by 3 veggie oil powered school busses. If you havent checked their site yet do it now. Again, its www.commonvision.org. I cant wait.

Blessed Love to all!!

Chillin back at the office, looking back on the last week. I havent blogged for at least that long. Allmost lost it. The blog habit that is. So now I can syndicate my blog into tribe. It seems they have added my RSS feed format to their list. It wasn’t working a month ago. Give thanks. I have been trimming trees a few days a week. Another rainy spell for a few more days. Caught Midnite in Eureka a bout a week ago. Went on a nice hike in the Redwoods down at the Albino tree near Pepperwood. Have gone bowling a few times. Oh..yeah.. my friend Madelena took me out to see a “Clowns Without Borders” benefit show. It was a really incredible performance. I laughed my ass off for sure. Looking forward to visits from friends Shayna and Gina of the Livingearth crew and hang a bit with some good family. And soon come a journey to San Fran. to link up with Common Vision crew for a few. Bom. Can’t Wait. If you dont know.. check it now! www.commonvision.org. Anyway, Lovin’ Life. Lovin’ You.
Shall Up Warriors! Bom Shiva!

Annapurna, Koral and Shakina are three of the best friends, sweetest lovers and, overall amazing people in my life. Most people would be scared to see three (formality) ex-partners (reality - best friends, lovers, homies, peeps, tight fam., soulmates) hanging out together. All these mamas have distinguished themselves in so many ways. Constantly rising above the B.S. and taking on the challenges of life and then some. Im honored to be so closely connected to you all.

Thank you so much JAH for bringing these women into my life. I hope to continue our journey togethah, forevah as potent allies. I Love You All SOOO MUCH! Thank you!

Blessed Love and Namaste!

I found this article in the North Coast Journal. Its about an old logger who just got fired by Pacific Lumber, and tells of the struggle this county has been plagued with for years. I couldn’t agree more really. Check it out.

http://www.northcoastjournal.com/020807/towndandy0208.html
